You should know that piercers who use externally threaded jewelry do so only because it is cheap. They should know better and care more about their clients and the quality of their piercings. If they don't know the important differences between internal and external threads, you shouldn't be getting pierced by them, anyway!

 ABOUT THE MATERIALS USED IN OUR JEWELRY The jewelry that we carry at Forever Art for long term use (greater than 24 hours) is certified for human implant by independent laboratory tests. The material chemistry, mechanical properties, as well as microstructure must be scrutinized, tested and certified for human implant applications for it to be suitable for healing and wear in a new piercing. Most common body jewelry does not even come close to these specific standards (ASTM) F136 Titanium with a F86 surface preparation. Consider anything else a novelty item. It "may" be wearable for less than 24 hours safely if people know that it is a novelty and to give their body a break from it as soon as possible. Acrylic is NOT SAFE TO WEAR for any extended period of time. We do not carry it also because it cannot be safely sterilized because it melts in the autoclave. If a chemical germicide (some sort of disinfecting solution that some studios use) is used to attempt to clean the plastic, it can bond to the material and poison you.
Forever Art carries a wide variety of jewelry in an assortment of colors. We stock quality gemstone ends which are interchangable with our other jewelry. No glue is used in our gem ends because it can be harmful to the client and it cannot be sterilized correctly (it melts). Our gem ends use a bezel setting with the titanium actually crimped around the gem. We can special order custom jewelry for you!
